Caern had been captured on his way to deliver a message; his torturer was known for his cruelty, if you ask any of the guards they will tell you how his screams echo through the streets. He had been tortured for the past ten days yet he did not break. Now he sat alone in his cell, waiting for the next bout of torure he knew was coming. But they did not show up, and he started laughing quietly to himself until it turned into a full bout of laughter, laced with insanity. The guards say that his laugh is something they fear even more than death itself for it tells that a man had lost all trace of his former self, left in its wake was an empty husk.

Tim sat down on the edge of his bed
