this takes place on an alternate timeline--no Percy and Annabeth, but characters like Chiron and Zeus and the gods remain the same.
"Who are the Children of Hecate?" you ask in curiosity.
The Children of Hecate consist of, well, some children of Hecate and people who can use magic. Not controlling-the-elements magic, but magic. Like manipulating the Mist, levitation, et cetera. They are some of the more powerful demigods, coming close to the Big Three's offspring's powers. This factored into why Hecate's children were shunned--some of the gods feared what power and impact they could have.
As they do not have a cabin at either camp, several of Hecate's offspring left each camp and met up by accident somewhere, nearly taking off each others' heads in the process. They formed a secret group, consisting of Hecate's children. They would act somewhat like the Hunters of Artemis, but they would kill monsters and be an independent group. They hated the camps--they felt like outsiders. If there was ever a war, they would side with the one they thought would be the best for them. As they travel over the continental United States, their safest refuges are at temples dedicated to the gods and Hecate--monsters can't get across the boundaries protecting the temples.
The Children prefer to go by the Legion (or Cohort) of Hecate, as they are influenced by both Roman and Greek styles.
Each offspring of Hecate usually has various powers. Most can control the Mist to some extent. However, there are several other abilities they can have (max 3). Every child of Hecate can use spells.
--manipulation of the Mist
--manipulation of energy
--telekinesis and levitation
--manipulation of molecules and soundwaves
--Charmspeaking/temporary mind control
Note: In a moment where a child of Hecate might have performed an act that impressed the goddess, the goddess may bless the child temporarily and the child will be almost invincible for that time.
