Austrian Men
Alright, to be completely honest, I will have to be the ignorant, stereotypical, generalizing American for a second here. Why? Being completely candor, I can't really tell the difference between Austrian men and German men. They both speak German and sometimes the way they look/act is extremely difficult to differentiate. I guess Austrian men are a bit more open, nicer, and friendlier than German men though, or maybe they open up more quickly is a better way to express this? But that's only once you get to know them and talk with them but before any of this happens, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between an Austrian man and a German man. Perhaps if I live in either of these countries one day, I'll be able to tell but for an 18-year-old American girl traveling through Europe and staying only a few days in each city, it's hard to get that in-depth. My first encounter with an Austrian man was the passport control officer who asked a TON of questions (details are under the "Austria" section of this website), and so my first impression was wow, Austrians are a bit uptight and anal, even more so than Germans (which is a stereotype that's not really true, from my experience). However, this impression was wiped away once I met my host's ex-bf, his brother, and roommates who were all very lax and cool. I know they are different and there are cultural differences and all that, just like between Canadians and Americans, but it'll take some time to realize these differences.

Dutch Men
Dutch men won't approach you. I think if you are interested in a Dutch man, YOU need to approach HIM. There are a few good-looking Dutch men around, yes, and most of them are taller than your average Italian, Spanish, or even French man; after all, the Dutch rank highest for average height in the world. Dutch men are very polite, somewhat reserved, nice, and they speak perfect English, so language barriers will never be a problem. The Dutch also have the highest percentage of fluent English speakers (where English is not an official language) in the world, closely followed by the Scandinavian countries. I don't know what else to say since I've only had a few real encounters with Dutch men, so this is as good as it gets for now.

Swedish Men
Swedish men reminded me of Dutch men. Polite, somewhat reserved, and probably most are fluent in English. Actually a few Swedes speak English with NO accent whatsoever! They could definitely pass as an American, besides the fact that most speak a couple more languages than the average American. See, that's why Swedish men reminded me of Dutch men, because men from both countries speak English PERFECTLY (or at least almost perfectly) and they're well "cultured" when it comes to foreign languages. I envy how multilingual they are, I aspire to be like them. I'm getting off tangent. OK, so the blond hair/blue eyes thing seems to be slightly more common in Sweden, actually. Swedish men seem to have a better sense of humor than Dutch men, especially if you speak a bit of Swedish. That's another thing! If you speak Swedish, I think Swedes are really appreciative that you speak even a little bit of their language! I've never felt so loved and welcomed for speaking the bit of Swedish I know, in my entire life! Trying to learn it really payed off! Once they open up, Swedes are some of the friendliest people you'll meet and yes, there are handsome men in Sweden.

British Men
Wow, I was quite surprised during my nearly 2-week stay in London. British men seem to be underrated. There are A LOT of good-looking guys, without a doubt, and it helps that they have smexy British accents. I know I'm being biased and I'm not going to deny it... if an American guy who's pretty average asked me out randomly, I would have second-thoughts or doubts whether I should say yes or not... but if an average-looking guy with a se*y British accent asked me out randomly... I would say yes. It's horrible I know but true. Come to think of it, I would be much more willing to say yes to a random European guy (because they would have an accent) than I would to a random American guy. Sad but true, it's my weakness, what can I say. Anyway, back to British men. I haven't met or encountered too many British men but the ones I did meet were quite polite, nice, but a bit more distant.
