Information about the Marbled Cat
Scientific name: Pardofelis marmorata
This animal is a small feline of south and southeast asia. Once thought to be a member of the pantherine line of "big cats", the Marbled Cat, found by genetic analysis, belongs to the family of Asian Golden Cat and Bay Cat. The Marbled is no larger than a house cat. It has a very thickly-furred tail that may be longer than its body,  and due to it's arboreal(lives in the trees) lifestyle, is used as a counterbalance. Recorded body lengths range from 45 to 52 cm(18 to 24 in), and the tail is recorded at 35 to 55 cm(14 to 22 in). The weight of a Marbled cat can be anywhere from 2(small) and 5(large) kilograms, or 4.4 to 11 pounds(that sounds more impressive).
The fur is banded and marbled as the Cat's name implies, comparable to the Indochinese Clouded Leopard. Marbled cat fur ranges from pale yellow to brownish grey, nearly always with lighter underparts. There are dark spots on the legs, underparts, and forehead, with bands on the tail and stripes on the neck and along the middle of the back. There are also white bands on the backs of the ears.
The Marbled Cat also tends to have some very large feet and unusually big canine teeth, much like big cats.
As far as behavior goes, humans know that these felines are nocturnal(awake at night) or Crepuscular(awake at dawn and evening).

The Gestation period in captivity is usually from 66 to 82 days. The litters usually have two kittens, each only weighing about 61 to 85 g (2.2 to 3 lb). These kittens usually open their eyes in around 12 days, take solid food at 2 months and actively begining to climb trees, and become fully mature at 21 or 22 months. The Marbled cat is known to live up to 12 years in captiviy.

The usual prey for a Marbled Cat are birds, squirrels, other rodents and reptiles.
