Fullmetal Alchemist: Generations After.

warriorsaremyfavorite - May 19, 2013, 07:34:47 PM
OOC: Sorry.... I've had a busy weekend. I was actually hoping she'd get a chance to use flame alchemy. It wouldn't matter as much if it back fired like it usually did in the ruins; there would be no bystanders to get hurt. I could take Laura back if you've got too many characters to rp. I'll try not to forget her...

IC: Clarissa stirred, her head pounding. "Dang it, what's with me and passing out?" she grumbled as she sat up and took in the situation, and then managed to stand. She put two and two together when she saw the assassin standing on top of the wall and the knifes that came out of know where and realized her sister was behind the wall. She reacted quickly, using alchemy to make the wall fall, while avoiding Laura. She ended up under an arch while the assassin on top fell. We can't fight her. We aren't trained for her skills. What do we do? she thought desperately as Laura crawled out from under the arch and hurried over to her and Derek. A thought dawned on her. Glancing at her pocket, she wondered if she dared. Reaching in to the pocket, she pulled the glove out and pulled it on her hand, just in case. She hated the idea of using fire against a living person, but she would if it meant the lives of her sister and her best friend.

Shay watched Crispin work for a moment, then looked around the wall, hoping Jian would be ok on his own. She decided it wasn't like she could protect Jian from the homunculus better than he was on his own. She stayed with Crispin and the group of injured people, just in case someone showed up to finish them off. (I think her overprotectiveness may be wearing off a bit.... just a bit)

OOC: wow, I made over protectivness one word, and protectivness isn't even a word  :-\
m-bob - Yesterday at 08:48:43 AM
OOC: hey I am back, quick question who were the people that died again?

IC: Cicily sighed and walked outside to get some fresh air. But when she got out there she decided to watch Jian and the rest instead.
warriorsaremyfavorite - Yesterday at 12:42:47 PM
OOC: So... their all fighting. Maybe Cicily should try and help? Their not in Ishval anymore, they went to some ruins so the homunculi wouldn't find out about the freed slaves in Ishval.
Hidden-shadows - Yesterday at 01:51:48 PM
OOC: I think I can handle Laura.

IC: Derek breathed a sigh of relief when Clarissa woke up, happy to see that she wasn't seriously injured.
Laura scrambled farther away as the wall fell, then even farther when she saw Clarissa put on the glove. So far, the Inferno alchemist had only managed her namesake a couple times, distance was a necessary precaution.

Grateful that he hadn't been caught by the enormous homunculus yet, Jian continued his chi-blocking. Hitting her harder was the only way to chi-block her effectively, but Envy's large size and tough skin required him to use a lot more force in each punch than in the jabs he normally used. The effort was beginning to take its toll on his hands, his knuckles aching and complaining. Envy was a more formidable foe in this state, while the human-sized version they had always gone up against was easier to defeat.

Joan, no longer in pain, was still unable to walk with her damaged automail. Anzhela sat her down on the ground leaning against a wall. Silently promising that the first thing they would do what they got back to Ishval was get Donnie to fix her automail, she leaned back against the wall and tried to calm herself. The sounds of conflict were distracting, however, and made her nervous.
Glancing at Kaspar and Evan, she asked, the words barely able to escape her lips, "What happened to them?" She was scared to know the answer, but felt it was information she may want to know.

warriorsaremyfavorite - Yesterday at 03:03:02 PM
OOC: I need Jun to do something....

IC: Shay looked at them for a moment. "Good question. They seem to be lacking." she too was curious how the two had ended up losing limbs. She looked back to Jian, hoping he'd manage to paralyze the homunculus with chi blocking before he tired.

TaiChiKitty - Yesterday at 04:13:23 PM
"Roya said Gluttony ate their limbs," Crispin explained, going to check on their recovery for a moment. "Both are in stable condition, but I don't know how I would regrow their limbs. Looks like they'll be getting automail. Speaking of which, I wish I could do something about your automail, Joan, but I don't know how to do that either."
The sound of Tess coughing caught his attention and he turned to see her on her side, coughing up blood. "Crap," he muttered, rushing over. "That doesn't look good."
After a minute, the coughing subsided and Tess moaned. "That hurt more than chuckling," she whispered, a pained look on her face.
"Most likely a broken rib punctured one of your lungs," Crispin stated, mostly talking to himself as he worked. "That could make your lung fill with blood. A coughing fit would probably just make it worse, which means I need to be quick."
With a punctured lung being the most dangerous injury, that was the first of Tess' injuries Crispin treated. He carefully felt along her ribcage until he found the broken ribs, healing them then her punctured lung. Once that was done, he relaxed a bit then moved on to her other broken bones.
"Thanks, Crispin," Tess said gratefully once he was done. "That feels much better." She carefully sat up, making sure there were no other injuries before standing up.
"Don't be surprised if you cough up more blood sometime," he warned. "The puncture is healed, but that doesn't mean the blood is gone."
"Ok," she stated, stretching a bit to make sure there was no residual pain.
Walking over to Kaspar and Evan, she took a closer look at their injuries. Both boys were quite pale still, but their breathing looked relatively normal. They both looked rather shell-shocked as well, which would make sense considering what had happened.
Glancing back at Shay, she said, "With Envy being so large now, Jian might have problems chi-blocking her. Maybe you should go help keep her distracted, just in case."
warriorsaremyfavorite - Yesterday at 05:06:12 PM
Shay nodded, then turned to leave. Pausing, she turned back. "I wonder, if I kill her, when she heals will she still be chi blocked or would that heal with her?" she asked.
TaiChiKitty - Yesterday at 05:24:42 PM
"I have no idea," Tess replied, "but to be safer you should probably stick with just distracting her. Jian will have a hard enough time chi-blocking her once, don't want to make him have to do it twice."
Hidden-shadows - Yesterday at 06:19:11 PM
OOC: I knew I was forgetting something.
Jian had a punctured lung closer to the beginning. XD Now it's Tess's turn.

IC:
Joan glanced at her automail limbs, realizing they were second in priority to Tess's health.
"When we get to Ishval, we'll have to check you into a hospital to see if they can do anything to get rid of the blood in your lungs." She told the Xingese girl.

As much as Envy was slowing down, she could see the Xingese Prince slow down as well. She tried to take advantage of it, but he was still faster than her delayed movements could keep up with. Frustrated, she tore a huge piece of a wall and threw it at him. The size of it would make it difficult for Jian to dodge, if it was even possible.
"Not good!" He shouted as he attempted to get out of the way of the oncoming chunk of wall. Panicking, he continued to shout as he ran as fast as he could, "Not good! Not good! Not good!"
He made a desperate dive to avoid being grinded into dust. He coughed as he breathed in the dust that was thrown up into the air and made it difficult to see, but was otherwise unharmed. As Envy's monstrous tail came rushing into view, and said one more time, "Not good." Immediately after, the tail slammed into him and he flew out of the dust cloud and rolled along the ground for a minute. He came a stop in a spread eagle position and lay there for a moment to gather his wits.

Jun stalled for a single moment then charged forward, deadly katana glinting light from the hot desert sun as it celebrated certain victory.
Derek raised his gun and carefully pointed it as the assassin. He refused to fail this time. He pulled the trigger but cursed when the bullet didn't come out. He desperately clawed at the weapon to fix it, but by then it was too late.
TaiChiKitty - Yesterday at 07:03:44 PM
Tess sighed, not really wanting to have to go to the hospital. Though she'd be more willing to go than Jian was. "We'll have to get Donnie to look at you, too. You still can't walk."
Hearing the crash from the fight, Tess looked around the wall to see what was happening just in time to see Jian fly. (funny wording XD) She glanced toward Shay, who had already started running to help the prince. Standing up, she hesitated to rush in because of the leftover fluid in her lungs. She didn't want to risk the chance that she'd be injured again if she had to stop and cough up more blood.
"Wouldn't Envy be surprised if I showed up again so soon?" she sighed and shook her head. "I'd better not," she added after Crispin gave her a look that said, "Don't you dare." She couldn't resist a light chuckle at his expression.
Hidden-shadows - Yesterday at 07:28:07 PM
"You'd only get yourself hurt again anyway." Joan pointed out.

Jian rolled and got on his hands and knees, coughing and rubbing his eyes to rid himself of the dust that had gotten into his system. His chest hurt a bit and having the breath knocked out of him left him feeling a little winded, but nothing felt broken or overly injured.
"Should I count myself lucky that I didn't lose my lunch?" He paused to think and after a moment he added, "Or was it breakfast?"
Envy moved to attack again, but found her movements suddenly lurch and slow down more. She willed herself to go faster, but could get her muscles to obey. She growled at the Prince, "I'm going to kill you!"
"Hmm. I expected something a little more creative. Get in line missy, I can't even count how many people want to kill me."
warriorsaremyfavorite - Yesterday at 07:46:49 PM
OOC: I tried to post something sooner, but it didn't work. I was going to have Shay help Jian, and would have probably avoided him being squashed by a giant tail. Oh well.

IC: Shay ran up behind Envy, quickly ascended the nearest building, and then jumped onto her back. She sliced at the homunculus once with her katana, mainly to get her attention and to give Jian a moment to collect himself. She jumped down onto the ground, landing with a role, and kept the homunculu's attention on her. If she looked away, she'd feel the sting of her blade again. Come on Jian, I can't finish this. You better be alright. she thought. She wanted to go to him, but she knew she'd be more help keeping the homunculus distracted.

Clarissa knew it was now or never. Her hands shook, but she managed a snap. Fire leaped from her fingertips. This time, instead of exploding violently, it stayed together better, landing near the assassin, close enough to burn, but not seriously injure. She smiled. If her aim had been better, she probably would have scorched her.

OOC: I don't want to actually kill Jun, unless you want me to, so that's why she missed. It's close enough to stop her attack though...( that's just in case it wasn't clear. I think I may have confused myself, but it didn't make much sense to me.)
TaiChiKitty - Yesterday at 08:42:10 PM
"I know it would be a bad idea," she clarified, just in case Crispin didn't realize she was joking. Tess then sat down, resigning herself to waiting.
After a minute she glanced at Crispin, who looked like he was expecting her to run off at any moment. She couldn't resist laughing, causing her to start coughing again. Crispin worriedly knelt down next to Tess as she coughed up more blood.
Once her coughing subsided, Tess looked at her worried brother and assured him she was fine. "It barely hurt at all, just getting rid of some liquid in my lung."
Crispin sighed, still not completely reassured. There wasn't much he could do now, anyway, but that didn't keep him from worrying.
Hidden-shadows - Yesterday at 09:05:51 PM
The dust slowly settled and Jian climbed to his feet, breathing heavily as his lungs desperately and greedily claimed air after losing it so suddenly. He had to hurry if he was going to finish chi-blocking the over-sized homunculus. The sudden lurching that had affected Envy was interesting and unexpected. A nice mental note to add to Jian's chi-blocking knowledge. The full effect of his attacks didn't kick in until later. But he also had no idea how long it would last.
With Envy's eyes on Shay, Jian ran forward, still trying to even his rapid breathing. Though it was extremely risky, he slid underneath the homunculus and chi-blocked her softer belly. After a few moments, he rolled from underneath in case Envy decided to lay down on top of him. Mere seconds after escaping, Envy plopped on the ground, which would have crushed him.
The Prince looked Envy in the eye and ordered, "Shrink down to human size. It'll be much easier on all of us, you're already doomed to fail."
"Pest! Insect! Pathetic Worm!" Envy shouted, all of which failed to get a notable reaction out of Jian.
When the insults subsided, Jian spoke, "Come on, I was hoping for some really hurtful insults. What you're saying is just a waste of breath."
He hopped back onto her back and stomped across her back, chi-blocking her as much as he could to ensure she would stay chi-blocked for a while.
"One more thing." The playful banter escaping his voice. His tone was harsh and demanding, "Next time you come after us, Cai better be the one you bring with you, not that fat slob."
"I don't know any Cai." Envy huffed.
"I think you do. The only other female homunculus among you." He followed up with a threat, "Because I can make chi-blocking more painful. It's a new method I'm developing, and I'm not entirely sure of all the side effects yet. For all I know, it could make your eyes explode." The threat, except for the eye exploding part, was mostly true. Before being kidnapped by the assassins, he'd been practicing his chi-blocking and hurt one of this teachers with an embarrassingly soft blow. Almost forgetting about it a midst all the ruckus of being kidnapped and then having no one to practice on safely, he hadn't tried it out after that, but testing it on the homunculi was always an option.

The explosion knocked Jun off her feet and she flipped wildly in the air. Unable to control her descent, her head collided with the ground and she bounced a few feet farther away. Her clothes were singed and smoking along with some of her hair. Her right hand and cheek were almost black and her katana could be found farther away.
Derek kept his gun pointed at Jun, just in case. But the assassin remained still where she lay, almost terrifyingly so. The former slave made his way toward the fallen enemy to confirm whether or not she was dead. Approaching the nearly motionless form, he saw her breathing shallowly. Upon closer inspection, it was clear she was unconscious. He let out a breath he hadn't realized he had been holding as Laura approached as well.
"Is she dead?" Laura asked tentatively. She wanted the assassin out of the way, but wasn't sure if she wished death upon the enemy.
Derek poked the unconscious assassin with his gun to make sure, "No. She's just unconscious. We should probably find the others and get out of here before she comes to."
Laura nodded readily in agreement. "Come on Clarissa let's get out of here."

After watching Gluttony struggle for awhile, Keith and Roya eventually decided he wouldn't be escaping for a fair amount of time and decided to go help Joan and Tess. Though Keith was more concerned about his brother's well being, understandably so. Evan was his more reliable connection to the hearing world, but more than that as well. Keith had rescued the pair from their abusive parents when they were young and they were unbelievably close. The Deaf Alchemist had a hard time handling the idea that he'd failed to protect his brother after all that.
They rose to their feet, a little wobbly now that the adrenaline from the conflict with Gluttony was gone, and made their way to where they knew the fight with Envy was going on, not sure if it was still going or not.
TaiChiKitty - Yesterday at 09:26:59 PM
Tess and Crispin looked up to see Keith and Roya coming, having sensed them before seeing them. They weren't surprised to see their worry, especially Keith's. Standing up, Crispin walked toward Keith and assured him that Evan would be ok, guiding him over to his brother.
Hidden-shadows - Yesterday at 11:09:54 PM
Keith kneeled down next to his brother. Despite Crispin's assurances that Evan would be okay, they fell on deaf ears and he was still worried sick. Evan was remaining silent, and Keith was told to keep him from sleeping, informing the Deaf Alchemist of the situation and the risk of shock.
To keep Evan focused on something other than the loss of his leg, Keith fingerspelled words into his brothers hands; similar to how Ann Sullivan did to Helen Keller. (OOC: Sure, this isn't our world, but why not?)
Roya focused on Kaspar, who deserved someone to care for him as well. Crispin was more worried about Tess, Keith was more worried about Evan, Joan was more or less alright thanks to the philosopher's stone and just couldn't move her broken automail arms.

Envy's body rippled as she tried to move, but it was nearly impossible at this point. Having very little control over your body was almost worse than not being able to move it at all. Almost.
Only when her body wouldn't respond at all did Jian stop chi-blocking. He hopped off the disgusting creature and rubbed his hands. The knuckle to his right middle finger hurt a significant amount and he feared he may have broken it against Envy's rock hard skin. Even the most skilled martial artist would be at risk of breaking their knuckles against hard surfaces such as rock or metal. Attempting to unclench the first turned out to be a mistake; he cringed and slowly relaxed his hand. Crispin would have to take a look at it.
Jian slumped against the wall next to everyone else in what had been unofficially staked as the medical bay. Chi-blocking the true form of Envy was a terrible experience, but he did learn something from it.
"Crispin, I need to you take a look at this." The Prince held out  his hands, knuckles starting to swell and develop odd colored bruises the one Jian feared was broken turned a nasty shade of purple that was nearly black pretty quickly. His feet were a little sore as well, but nothing to concern himself with.
TaiChiKitty - Yesterday at 11:39:02 PM
Walking over to take a look, Crispin wasn't surprised Jian had hurt himself while chi-blocking Envy. "That shouldn't be too hard to take care of," he informed the prince. Within minutes, Crispin had Jian's hands back to normal. (out of context, that sentence could sound weird)
While Crispin did that, Tess joined Roya in checking on Kaspar. Both girls talked quietly to him, helping him stay awake as well. Tess resisted the urge to cough again, knowing it wouldn't help Kaspar and Evan's current state of mind to see her cough up blood. As long as she focused on keeping her breathing normal, she could keep from having another coughing fit.
Hidden-shadows - Yesterday at 11:50:15 PM
"Envy's skin was hard." Jian explained after seeing Crispin react to the injuries to his hands, rubbing his now healed hands. "Didn't help that I had to hit harder than I normally would." To help explain it to Crispin, he said, "imagine punching Joan's auto mail as hard as you possibly could. And that's close to what I had to do."

OOC: Envy from the show had mushy looking skin, ours has rock hard skin.
TaiChiKitty - Today at 12:02:47 AM
Crispin cringed sympathetically. "Just punching her arm once was bad enough," he said, unable to hold back a smirk at the memory. He glanced at the alchemist, wanting to see her reaction to his statement.
