How to Roleplay Here

Welcome, wanderer, to Warrior Cats RPG! We roleplay by posting back and forth for what our characters do.

How to Start:

Make up a cat. If you're stuck,  try our warrior cat maker.

You can jump into the roleplay without filling any forms, or if you want to, you may create a "bio" for your cat in Create Your Cat, starting a topic, and filling it out.

"Joining threads" are OPTIONAL here.  You don't have to start as an outsider if you don't want to. You can start your cat in a clan as if they're already a member if you prefer.

Time to start! Let's say your cat is a she-cat named Sungaze. You can reply to any topic that is open, or start your own topic. Each roleplaying board is a place in the land, like Thunderclan's board represents that clan. You post an intro, like this:

Sungaze wandered out of the warriors' den to go on a hunting patrol. She saw some cats over by the freshkill pile, and walked over and said, "Hi, how's the prey running?"

Now your cat is in the game. Another player replies with what their character does.

"Prey is running well," said Dreampaw. "I'm about to go out training with my mentor as soon as I finish up eating."

You then decide how your character reacts...

"That sounds good," said Sungaze. "I'm leading a hunting patrol if anyone wants to come with me."

And it goes on, building a story. You can have all sorts of adventures! Just make sure it makes sense in the Warriors world--realistic cats living in the wild {Or twolegplace if you're a kittypet!}


"Wait a minute. It is REALLY that easy? There must be something more I need to know!"

Nope--that's it! I told you it was easy

Additional tips...

Roleplaying a Fight!

If you make your cat attack someone else's cat, you will probably be attacked back! If you roleplay in a battle, do not injure or jump on someone else's cat without their permission. You simply have your cat AIM to do these things, and the other person decides if it hits.

Advanced Roleplay?

We have an entire area devoted to advanced roleplay. Click here for the board where you can apply to join it and here for info on advanced bios. Caution: this is for experienced roleplayers and writers. Beginners should stick to the regular boards till they feel ready.

Do you have to speak always in 3rd person? I'm just asking because I saw in a topic that there was some 2nd person rping. Just wondering

You can use 1st as well, as long as people agree on it.

2nd person is "you," that'd be hard to roleplay ^_^ Did you mean first person, as in "I"? That is allowed if people in the thread are okay with it.

okay i lost the topic anyways but thanks. Do you mind making a topic in the help guide/part thingy about 1st, 2nd and 3rd person? I always forget. I mean, I always rp like this:

Shypaw padded towards the apprentice den with his tail between his legs, embarrassed about his earlier actions. "Don't stare at me." he hissed to a group of laughing cats.

that's 1st person right? Or is it 3rd? Is this 2nd person?:

I walked towards the apprentice den with my tail between my legs, embarrassed about my earlier actions. "Don't stare at me." I hissed to a group of laughing cats.

I would only speak in what i think is 2nd person in a chat like Heartfang Chat or in an ooc post.

'I' is first person I believe:
I joined the others on a hunting patrol

2nd person: 'you' not actually sure how to RP that without powerplaying

Oh now I get it a bit more becuase we are learning verbs in french and the proper stuff with ist person 2nd pesron 3rd person ect. Thanks so much guys ^^

2nd person is like:
You walk over to the fresh-kill pile.
1st person:
I walk over to the fresh-kill pile.
3rd:
Eaglestripe walks over to the fresh-kill pile.
I don't know about other people, but I usually roleplay third person.

Like in a fight;

Frostblaze growled at Beestripe, her claws raking the ground. Suddenly, she pounced, and aimed to pin him down.

There, the roleplayer of Beestipe can either dodge or let Frostblaze pin him. But a tip is have your cat get hit a couple times to it won't be;

Beestripe dodged Frostblaze and aimed to claw her muzzle

Frostblaze moved her head just in time and attempted to swipe at Beestripe's legs

Beestripe jumped out of the way

etc etc etc

If that happens, it gets quite boring.
