Badge Event - Mud Mania!!!

MUD MANIA!!!

January brings a bout of unseasonable warmth to the lands. Snow that has built up over many weeks now melts, and melts, and melts...leaving puddles and mud EVERYWHERE! A particularly large mud pit area forms near Fourtrees, where a small stream feeds the pond near there.

Prey suddenly comes out for this weather, but also, mudslides could be a danger!

Mud could be sticky in some places--careful not to get stuck!

....Could this even be the first Warrior Cats mud wrestling event?

Is that a twoleg truck stuck in the mud off by Twolegplace? Are rivers overflowing their banks? This thaw has far reaching consequences...

Acanai was still stalking through the forest looking for a place to set shelter when he found a large mudpit. "Might as well take a break...CANNONBALL!!" Acanai yelled before jumping in.

The calico tabby hadn't meet to discover the mud bank. His amber gaze flickered across fourtrees, and insecurity pricked his pelt. Sepiagaze took a quick step forward and met the scent of fresh, warm, and strong prey.

Through his enchantment, he slipped in one of the larger puddles. "Fox-dung!" he cursed, a bit louder then expected. A flicker of movment caught the calico's attention, 'prey' he thought warmly.

ic: Moonflower headed out of the RiverClan to go fishing in the river. Like normally, she padded to the edge of the stream to go fishing. Not like normally, the river was much higher then usual, there was barely any snow anywhere, and the sun was shining! She had barely noticed that she was not shivering every minute. Was it a bout of warmth? Whatever it was, Moonflower decided to appreciate it while it lasted.

Xero wandered out of the forrest, a scowl on his face. "I shouldn't have trusted them...I knew I shouldn'tve, and look...now they've turned their back on me, stealing my freshkill  whenever I'm out of an earshot! Apprentices....Riverclan apprentices....why can't they eat their own food? Appearently, fish is really good. Why then, steal my squirrels?" shaking his head, he sat by the riverbank,  dipping his paw in the water. Water? No, it wasn't water... It was...mud! Xero sat upright, staring at the mud. "Guess fish don't live in this...huh?" he smirked.

[Requiem]

Bright blue eyes scanned the territory he had recently padded into. The loner had no idea what direction he was going but he knew all of this seemed familiar somehow. Perhaps this area was close to the Fourtrees, the large ancient rock and where the hot spring was. It was possible but the tom wasn't for sure. Ears perked forward and eyes still scanning, relaxed yet at the same time alert. As the tom continue on padding forward, he failed to see a large puddle of mud. Front paws splotched in the substance. Looking down the loner began to pull his paws up but he was currently stuck! The mud had suction his paws below the surface where he was unable to pull out. His eyes grew wide as he frantically began to back up, trying to free himself. All his attempts were done in vain...

Dropping into a tidy hunter's crouch, the Shadowclan warrior inched forward slowly...He kept his head held high as he stalked his unsuspecting prey. Sepiagaze made one tiny mistake and his front paw slid into the mud with a rather large 'splash'.

Holding back the temptation to curse he stood upright. Deciding that the the tom should enjoy the warm weather, why it 'happened' to last.

Moonflower looked down at her paws ans saw they were coated in mud! She wrinkled her nose in disgust and looked closer at the ground, which appearded to be all mud. She waded into the river, trying to wash the mud from her paws. Moonflower looked down into the stream for fish, but only saw mud, which darkness was blocking the quick shapes of fish. Sighing, she decided she might as well go to the stream near Fourteers to fish. Maybe it would be better there. She swam towards it, keeping her newly washed paws out of the mud.

Luna slowly scanned the forest with her ocean blue eyes, her white pelt standing out in the greenery around her. The she-cat began to pad forward when she stepped into a squishy substance. Her paws slipped on the slick mud, making her fall. She yowled in outrage as she fell into the mud, her white pelt instantly becoming brown.

Reaching the small stream, Moonflower saw that it wasn't much better off. Actually, it was worse off. There was more mud than water! She could see several cats nearby already stuck in mud. She slowly padded towards a cat stuck in mud, only to find herself soon stuck, too! She hissed in outrage and struggled to get out, hopelessly.

Deathheart stepped all over the mud and tryed to find a non muddy spot it was hard.

Starrynight growled as she trudged through the mud. Her jet black pelt with white speckles throughout her coat had turned a dark brown. The mud felt cool on her skin though, so she tolerated it. Eagleheart bounded through the mud joyfully, splashing mud across his sister's fact. "Watch it!" Starrynight hissed, her green eyes showing hatred toward her brother. The tom rolled his eyes pulled himself out of the mud and onto the bank. "Cannon ball!" he yowled, backing up a few yards. He then rocketed toward themud, flinging himself in. Mud splashed onto his sister and several other spectators.

Finally, after struggling, Moonflower knew she couldn't get out of this spot if she didn't ask for help. Truth be told, she was a bit embarrassed, asking cats from other Clans to help her. None the less, she yowled, "Could someone please help me? I seem to be stuck in mud!"

Eagleheart grinned at his sister as she shrieked when the mud hit her pelt. With a shake of his head, he swam over to Moonflower to assist her in getting out of the mud. "Need a paw?" he chuckled, tugging and pushing the she-cat out of the mud. "There ya go." the tom grunted as he finally was able to free her from the mud.

"Thanks!" Moonflower said thankfully, and padded off to help the other cats, watching her step to not get stuck again. She saw cats playing in the mud, splashing mud all over them. She narrowed her eyes, puzzled. Who could have fun getting dirty and muddy, she thought, bewildered.
