"Echostar would you like me to take a hunting patrol" she asked

Sandblaze and Suncloud approached Duskpaw.

Echostar shrugged ,"You can if you want...though I would rather save that task for deputy." She mewed, suddenly remembering she still needed to pick a deputy. She shook her mind from that subject and looked at Snowleaf ,"Yes?" She mewed.

Dogfang padded over to Suncloud, "Mind telling me what happened at the party?" He asked, curious.

Sorrelscar grabbed a finch from the FK pile and began gnawing at it joyously.

Skypaw grinned at Cloudpaw ,"What shall we play first!?" She asked, leaning into a playful position.

Snowleaf looked at Echostar. "I would like to talk to you in private," he said. "There's something I want to talk to you about, but not were we can be easily overheard."

Duskpaw saw that her mentor and Sandblaze were walking to her. I wonder why they are walking to me? she wondered.

Suncloud nodded to Dogfang. "Raindapple and I were gonna start hanging out at the party, but Sandblaze came over to hang out, too. Nightfall, I guess Raindapple's friend, got suspicious and rejected Sandblaze, and she felt hurt. Echostar decided to leave after that." she explained.

Echostar nodded ,"Of course. Let's speak in my den." She mewed, slipping into her nest eagerly. She then looked at the Healer, a bit nervous as to what he needed to say.

Dogfang winced ,"Ouch! That sounds bad. Is Sandblaze okay?" He asked.

Snowleaf followed Echostar into her den. Once inside he started to tell her about Elegantpetal. "I have reason to believe that Elegantpetal is teaching two apprentices despite her being an elder," he said. "One of them even told me about it."

Soulheart nodded, "Do you wish me to wait, I'll get back to the question later it appears Snowleaf needs you now" she meowed and padded away

Echostar sighed ,"That Elegantpetal...she sure is trouble. Would you mind fetching her for me? I'd like to have a talk with her." She mewed, sitting down.

Snowleaf nodded. "I hope that this won't cause her to treat me any worse than she already has been," he muttered as he went to retrieve the troublesome elder. "Elegantpetal!" he cried out. "Where are you?"

  As fast as she could pad, which was hard considering her bad leg, Elegantpetal smirked. "Here. Why? What have I, the troublesome elder do now?" Tone filled with mocking, her eyes narrowed.

Echostar patiently waited for Elegantpetal to arrive in her den.

"Echostar wants to talk to you," he said. The way that Elegantpetal was know mocking him had infuriated him. He held back a glare and a retort.

  Suddenly, like hit by a storm, she looked dazed. Tail starting to swish urgently, she gasped in horror. Then, as if taken over, she thought the one thought that could end her chance. "Forced to love something." Whispering lightly, tears fell from her eyes.
  "Snowleaf. I failed. I realised I failed at saving her. By trying to save her, I condemed another to pain. One to confusion and one to anger. The only one I didn't fail is the one exactly like her useless father. Mosspaw, with her fathers view on the world, will be normal."
  "I failed at my mission. I failed to save one from pain. She will end up like herslef all over again. I could see her demons. My mother killed herself. I just don't want it to happen again. Returning from Starclan and I can't save her. Could I ever save anyone? My son left me and my mate was a killer." Seeming to break into a ball, she wept.
  "Has anyone ever cared?"
