I'm not proud of what I've done. I wish I could make all this disappear.
Rune stood at the edge of cliff staring at the black churning water beneath him. He wanted to hide from the world, give everyone he ever knew a chance to forgive and forget him. Well, not forgive. Nobody would ever forgive him for what he'd done. He could still see the pain and betrayal in his brother's dying eyes. Rune had succumbed to the greatest weakness of any cat: jealousy and power. He had met another rogue that told him he could have any kind of power he could dream, only if he sacrificed what meant most to him. Thinking of the false hope he now knew was given to him, Rune kept thinking more and more about throwing himself into the foaming wake.

Flare saw the cat and slunk into the shadows. She looked at him scared knowing she already was in to much pain to have to deal with another cat. Her red fur hid in the shadows somewhat and her blue eyes watched him cautiously not knowing what would happen.

Rune's ear twitched nervously as he heard a soft rustle. The paranoia he was feeling heightened all his senses to the point were he might jump at a leaf falling from a tree. Turning, he stared cautiously at the tree line far behind him.

Flare froze and tried her best to stay in one place in the shadows. She didn't want to be seen by anyone at the moment.
