Sakura woke and spread her jaws in a wide yawn. She glanced over and spotted Birch and Rock in what appeared to be a play fight. She smiled and waddled to the water's edge taking a small sip. It was freezing, so she deicided not to go in at this time.

The golden pelt of the river otter female glittered in the reflection or the early sun as she emerged from her own den. She released a silent yawn to publish her state as a "sleepy head." Her night had been filled with peaceful pleasant dreams, but now it was time to enter the uneasy world of reality. With a puppy-like stretch and a quick look around, Gilda waddled up to the water's edge and began her morning routine of cleaning her face and quenching her thirst with the cool water.
