Dalia spotted sef from the tree. "Hello sef!" She called from below. She ran around to the side of the rock and walked up a small slope to the top and sat there looking across the plains

"Hi, Dalia." Sef leapt down from the branch. She padded up the rock and sat beside her. Shooting a sideways glance, she said, "Prey is not running very well."

"It's getting harder each month. Most days I hear gun shots from humans killing and scaring prey farther from our territory." She sighed.

"I'll tell the others to keep a lookout. Maybe we could steal their kill?" Sef added, getting up and shaking each of her legs in turn.

"Good idea. We could try and steal prey tonight." She said and turned around and began walking towards one side of the border to start patrolling.

Sef padded heavily into her den. Her wound from the battle was still sore.
