Icepaw needs a Mentor

Personal Message (Offline) Greyflower

Midnightsky grinned at how quickly her apprentice had caught on. "Very good!" she commented, examining the freshly caught fish. She picked hers up and nudged it under the shade of a nearby rock. "This is how I keep them from drying up in the afternoon heat." she meowed.

Icepaw nodded with interest and nudged over her two fish into the shade where her mentor had put hers. She sat and licked the water from her paws. "Now can I see the territory?" she mewed.

Midnightsky rose to her paws. "Sure." she replied. "Well, to start off this obviously is the river. Most of our prey comes from here." she motioned with her tail towards the river.

Icepaw nodded as her mentor explained, she waited until they set off in a walk around the territory, pointing out every thing she thought was important.

"Well that's about it." Midnightsky mewed as the river came back into view. "Anything else you wanna do today?"

Icepaw shook her head "I want to get my nest ready in my new den." she mewed to Midnightsky. "I've got to get used to sleeping in a new den."

That night once everyone was asleep Icepaw stayed awake in her nest, ears pricked eyes wondering around. She left lonely even though she was with her littermates. She decided to go for a walk along the river. Maybe go to the stepping-stones and to Sunningrocks. Icepaw slipped out of camp, easily dodging the guards. She padded along a small path tredded down by seasons of endless paw prints. As she crossed the stepping - stones she saw a pelt flash in the bushes of ThunderClan's territory. She pricked her ears and padded closer, then a cat padded out. "Hello," he mewed "I'm Stormpaw of ThunderClan. You?" he continued. "I'm Icepaw of RiverClan." she mewed. She gazed at the ThunderClan apprentince, she noticed that he was completly black with gray lines through out his fur. She gazed into his eyes for a moment, they were blue gray, that looked stormy. "Tell me whats like in ThunderClan..."

Midnigthtsky was curled up in her nest, her blue-grey pelt tinged silver in the light that a small gap in the roof of the warriors' den provided. Her green eyes were half open. She had woken awhile ago and rest refused to return to her. Rising to her paws, she slipped out of the den to get an evening snack. She picked out a squirrel and finnished it in a few quick gulps. On her way back, a certain scent captured her attention and she paused to give the air another sniff. Icepaw. Her scent was fresh, she likley had passed not long from now. She flicked an ear, eyes clouded in soft thought. "Maybe she just went to the dirtplace." the russian blue warrior thought, sitting down.

Icepaw hurried back to camp, she had talked to Stormpaw all night and felt exhausted. She yawned and shook her pelt, she slipped into camp through the dirtplace tunnel and padded into camp. She saw Midnightsky, hoping she wouldn't see her she hurried over to her den and slipped inside. It was empty. She curled up in a little ball and closed her eyes, intently asleep.

Icepaw padded around this light dappled clearing, every time she looked around all she saw was Stormpaw's face. "No!!!" she yowled and bolted off, running to the end of the clearing, but it just wouldn't come. No matter how fast she ran or how long she ran, the trees stayed where they were.

Icepaw woke panting, she looked around the den. It was still empty. She padded out of her den, mind whirling. She needed advice. She'd talk to her mentor, she decided. "Midnightsky?" she called to her mentor as she padded out of her den. "I need to talk to you."

Midnightsky turned as Icepaw approached. "Yes?" she meowed, rising to her paws.

"Somewhere private?" she pressed. There was a sense of urgency in her mew.

Midnightsky tilted her head slightly, curiosoty and now a small flicker of uncertainty flashed in her green eyes. "Um...ok." she replied. She glanced at the dirtplace tunnel and flicked her tail at it. "Behind there perhaps?"

Icepaw nodded and trotted towards it. Once she was there, she waited until the other cats had left and sat down, she turned to face Midnightsky.

Midnigthsky followed and sat down, her gaze flickering towards the enterence to make sure no cat had followed or watched the two she-cats. "So, what is it you wan't to tell me?" She asked, her gaze returning to Icepaw once she was sure they weren't seen.

Icepaw took a deep breath. "Last night i couldn't sleep so i went for a walk around our territory. I went to the stepping-stones and over to Sunningrocks, when I was there I met a ThunderClan apprentice. I'm afraid that I have a little crush on him already and... I don't know what to do! He's from another clan! Its against the code!" her voice became frantic. As she stared at her Mentor with big round blue eyes.

Personal Message (Offline) Greyflower

Midnightsky stared blankly at her apprnetice. After awhile she spoke. "Well, first of all I'll tell you that RiverClan and ThunderClan will occasionally have disagreements that lead to battles. You and that apprentice might have to meet in battle - and then the secret will be out. My advice will be just keep doing what you're doing, if you happen to speak to him again tell me if anything special happens." Her reply revealed no expression over the situation.
